A Bite to Eat

The cook came back over and gave Gami a refill. She looked over at Samerashii and could tell by his quicker pace that he was hurrying.

"What's the rush?"

"I don't want you to be sitting there waiting for me to finish eating."

Gami shrugged.

"Really take your time. I'm probably going to order something else to eat anyways."

"Quite an appetite." Samerashii slowed his roll (cause I felt like saying it).

Gami looked up in the direction the cook was coming from. Gami asked if she could have another plate their house special and the cook went back to fix it. She looked down and could kind of 'see' the stack of plates on his side where he ate.

"Yeah, and I might say the same to you."

"Well it's expected of me."

"True."

Gami grinned and within that minute, the cook came back with her food.

"You've made me feel very welcome Gami, I want to thank you for that."

"your welcome."

Gami smiled and took another bite of her food.

Samerashii finished his last plate and set it to the side. "I'm full."

Gami was finishing her last plate when she heard Samerashii was full. Then she heard the cook sigh a bit in relief. Gami grinned and sat her plate aside as the cook came over with the bill and a tray to take the plates back.

"I'll pick up the bill Gami."

"Well thanks..... am I going to help pay at all?"

"You don't have to. You can pick up the tip if you feel like it but I don't mind."

Gami took some of her money, and gave the cook a good amount of a tip for all the orders. She puts the money on the table, then gets up from her seat.

Samerashii brought the bill to the front and payed for their meals.

"I had a good time Gami. You're a nice person and one hell of a fighter."

"Thanks. And you're a really good fighter yourself."

"Thank you."

GAmi grinned and walked out of the shop. When she came outside, she could tell it was nighttime because it got cooler, and she could hear the crickets were out chirping too.

"Would you like for me to walk you home?"

Gami smiled at the offer.

"That sounds nice. Thanks."

Samerashii smiled as well. He walked up beside Gami and waited for her to begin the trip home.

Gami started to walk beside Samerashii and headed east bound in the direction she lived in. Even though she couldn't see, she could still make out some landmarks through her vision that would help her get home.

"So, um, if you don't mind me asking, how did you go blind?"

Gami didn't mind telling Samerashii how she became blind. She had told her story many times and it doesn't bother her at all.

"Well I was born with week eye sight, and, at the time, the doctors say it will probably get worse as time goes on too. So what my father did was train my other senses to get stronger with me. And by the time I was 15, I lost my sight completely and was legally blind. But I have found other ways for me to 'see' things besides relying on my other senses."
